Looking for pickguard options

Post by paincake »

Where do I shop for pickguards for my Jazzmaster? Warmoth says the few they have only fit their guitars and other places don't have many choices.

Thanks :)

His Jazz is a black AVRI.

I like b/w/b or red tort on black Jazzmasters.

EDIT: That smoke mirror guard would probably be cool too.

Yeah it's black :) Thanks.

I would like to find a BURNT ORANGE option maybe.

The dude I play with has a red Jag with black tortoise. IF I got a red pickguard we'd be doing Warrent sync'd hair flips next.

Personally, I would opt for tortoiseshell from Greven. Maybe a brownish-red/orange tone like this (they offer many other types):

The thing with Greven is, the tortoiseshell is the closest you will find to genuine tortoiseshell anywhere. All of the other tortoiseshell I have ever seen has been piss poor when compared to this stuff. The pickguard in the image above was moulded rather than cut, so it isn't perfect which sort of gives it an even more authentic vibe.

If John Greven still offers this service (maybe he can sell a sheet if you prefer it to be less rough?), he used to charge around $50.

He said it's molded instead of being cut to shape. I was referring to the pattern rather than the edges.

I'd really like a burnt orange guard I think.

That tortoise shell is better than any I've seen

I like some of those other melts on THIS page. They're made of tor-tis. WTF? It's plastic.
