vox teardrop we built

my buddy tom and i built this a couple months ago:

for our first guitar, she sounds pretty nice.

did the whole thing for under $250. The only thing that came out bad was the neckplate comes out a tiny tad in the back over the edge. i won the body off ebay for.. $40!!! it was another $40 for the bridge humbucker route (which he did way too close for where the bridge is (turn down the treble on the amp!!!) burstbucker as the bridge pick/up, stop tailpiece and tune-amatic bridge, replacement strat neck (fullscale, sorry!!! i wanted to make a shortscale!!), volume pot, a jack, some strings, wires, and we were set!!! we plan on taking her all apart again, staining the wood + lacquer, and then putting her back together once the strings sour out....

i have had two people ask me if it was an electric mandolin, and someone thought it was a ukele (sp?). then i dropped it down to d, put in some ear plugs, and blew their hair off their head...

do not stain wood, you will hate it.
either just oil it, and lacquer it, or cover it in stickers.
either way, very cool.
