Seriously. £229 for a 1x12" 1912 Marshall cabinet.

Has the world gone completely insane?
Occasionally I think about saving up and getting a replacement for my butched Lead 12 1x10" combo which I'm using as a cab at home and the moment, but at this price? Fuck. Right. Off.

Fuck that noise- the 1936 goes for like 50 quid more, and it's twice the size with another Celestion in it!

DO HARLEY BENTON?

£46 from Thomman is painfully affordable.

Indeed.

I think that's the way I'll end up going if it gets on my tits enough.

They're sat at my folks place, but I'm going to restore it at some point, needs some scratchy pots replacing and a speaker out added to the chassis. When I get the replacement cab I'll fix it up and return it to it's case.

I did something bad. I went on a bit of a Thomann binge.

On the credit card are:

Harley Benton G112 1x12" for practise and maybe even rehearsals

Korg Pitchblack (for bass pedalboard)

Warwick Pedalboard (this is the bass pedalboard)

My bass pedalboard will consist of the Pitchblack, a Saltbooster tweaked for Bass and this Dual OCD/Box Of Rock Bass Pedal I am building. It's going to be a tight squeeze.

I wonder if there are any cheap SolidState 100W bass heads that are portable I could pick up for that Cab for when Pancakes starts gigging?

Cool, I imagine it would, it's pretty fullon and broad ranging.

scratch that, the one i was thinking of is 180w.

sits about the £125 mark with shipping from thomann or dolphin though, not disastrously expensive.

That's along the lines I was thinking of, I'll get one when we start gigging.

They used to some some sweet Ampeg ripoffs but I think they've been sued and had to pull them, haha.. crazy behringer.

Keep an eye on your local paper, gumtree and ebay, and pick up a piss cheap, over-engineered and NickS approved H/H head for £30 odd.

I am also immensely proud of your Thomann binge. In a smaller way, I almost did a similar thing with an op-amp big muff at 1AM the other night. I woke the next morning in a cold sweat...

Lol @ quick purchases. Would be interested to hear how that cab sounds versus a 1936.

I'd imagine there's a glut of HH (and similar) bass heads all around music shops, garages and Friday Ad across the country. I likes my ancient HH head, even though the Graphic EQ makes farty noises when it's engaged.

I'd be wary of using it as a bass cab though- I've used guitar rigs as bass setups with no probs, but bass amp + guitar speaker could be very messy, them thangs don't like sub 100hz toneeez.

Yeah, it's probably just a pipe dream and pedalboard -> DI -> PA is more likely for the time being.

I'd totally pick up a cheapy Behringer ampsim pedal at least- distorted bass into PA sounds like AAAAAAAASS, DI box or not.
