these came up in the "why aren't things built like they used to be" nostalgia thread (actually about multi-out boxes or something).
i've been scouring a bit and found them shits! you can get them in like 15 other colors too! i ordered a set for this $20 gothic les paul i'm not sure what to do with.

What makes them speedy? I'd imagine you'd be able to set a dial faster if it had some traction around the edges and some markings to give you a visual guide.

the word 'speed' in the name i suppose. merely one other aspect of customization...
as for traction, they're a nice rubbery-plastic. never have a problem grabbing mine...

yea, it makes no sense. you want a bigger knob when you want to fine tune something, not when you want to go fast.
it must just be ironic slang. either that or gibson's marketing dept.
