Does anyone make good Ric copies or just good electric 12's

I really want a proper Ric but that could be out of reach for a long while; other than the Dano 12 string that I think I have seen is there anything else out there that has a Ric kind of jangle or whatever you want to call it. I know they seem to be fairly down on copies but someone might be sneaking something through the net that some of you cats my have seen....

the agile harm is *kind* of a ric copy. for around $360 it is a really good value, sounds great, comes set up really well, the only downside is that it is neck heavy.

i have one of those agiles and i rock it all the time. can get a ton of different tones with the three mini-buckers. sounds real nice. but not like a rickenbacker at all

I really can't recommend this guitar enough if you're looking to do it on the cheap...

Jay Turser SG 12-string

Fuck that, it's actually a solid guitar regardless of the price. Very solid. I would recommend changing the stock pickups - I plan to put some GFS Retrotrons in mine but other than that it's a great. Plus it's unusual, you don't see many people rocking up with a 12 string SG.

George, did you import it from the US?

Yeah I got stung with duty of about £40 in the end and had to pick it up from the fucking depot but it was worth it.

I might be one of the only people with one in the country actually, hadn't thought about that.

I was getting Jay Turser muddled up for Rondo, but I always wonder how much the VAT sting stops these guitars being worthwhile; a friend of mine imported a shortscale 335-style bass from Rondo, and it's lovely.

It's all relative I guess. On Gibson or US Fender it would have been a categorical no but for something cheap and unusual I think it's worth the punt.

I have a Danelectro DC-12 (korean late 90s reissue). I like it a lot and it definitely gets the ric jangle.

Here's a few other options

Italia Rimini 12

Schecter Stargazer

I haven't seen that Stargazer before but I remember this Schecter 12 got me hot under the collar but it was already out of production when I found out it existed :(

Yeah those are definitely pretty, didn't mention them because they're out of production but they pop on ebay once in a while
