MIA p bass prices

Post by kim »

i'm considering putting my (LEFTY) fender MIA p bass up for sale but am not sure what price to put on it...i know i paid something like 1100 euro that was in..2005/2006 or so...

note that it's a lefty and comes in one of those vintage style cases (forget which company makes them ...something like c&l ?) not the molded plastic case. and also comes with an extra anodized gold pickguard plus the standard white one.

so...any idea how much i should ask ? it's gonna be a bitch to get sold because it's a lefty but thought i'd just put it on some sites and wait.

Definitely sell the gold pickguard seperately. Maybe even put it on Offset, or have someone else put it on Offset for you.

do you have an idea of what they sell for on ebay? that's crazy that you guys over there pay so much of a premium on fender gear. that 1100 euros would've been like 2300 bucks back then...I bought my American Deluxe Jazz Bass the same year you got your p-bass i paid $1199...!!

you're definitely going to want to sell it overseas so you can keep as much money as possible...i'd say after four years a good price would be probably 750-900 euro...thereabouts. i think you should hang onto it unless you REALLY need the money though. those instruments are sexxy great.

i know they are, i love it, but i don't play bass in a band anymore and don't think i will anytime soon, it has bad memories stuck on it. it's just catching dust.

selling overzeas might make me get more for it but then there's insano shipping costs so i'd rather sell it by pickup.
also it's 'normal' prices are higher for stuff that's made abroad, like orange costs more in teh states than in the uk i guess.

i was thinking about putting the price on 900eurs before i made this post. i doesn't have much wear and prices over here for mia fender instruments are getting higher. but the issue is it's a lefty so i'll need to be lucky some lefty out there is looking for this and then 900 compared to ..i dunno..i think the new mia ones are about 1300 for a p bass so this person'd be more than willing to get it for 900.

but i'm in no rush, i just feel bad about it catching dust and bugging my eye so i'd put it up and wait it out. no way i'd be okay with less than 700. i just don't go on ebay at all so i had no idea what's happening on the seconhandmarket when it comes to these.

sorry...should've been more clear, i meant sell it locally/within europe to keep your return on investment. Like I said, I think anything from 750-900 is fair for both you and the buyer. And if it's in super bitchin' condish then yeah, definitely ask on the higher side of that. you'll definitely find a buyer, even if it's lety!
