toronado for $325 and accepting low ball offers on offset

Post by finboy »

I have a 2002 Fender Toronado, and my guitar collection is kinda getting redundant. I have 3 Humbucker guitars right now, and that's kinda unnecessary. So I figure I'd put out the feeler.

This guitar is beat up. I got it beat up, and then honestly didn't do a whole lot to change it, however it sounds absolutely awesome. It has a Lace Hemi bridge pickup, and a Seymour Duncan 59 neck pickup. Only the top two knobs are wired (Vol/Tone) the bottom two are just there for show, and I think one of them may be busted.

The first owner (I think I'm the third?) carved "EAT MEAT" and "HA!" into the top of the guitar, you can only see it in the light really. Because it was already a beater I added a few stickers, but they could probably be taken off. There's a Ghostbusters sticker on the front, and two more that I put on the back, and one that came with the guitar on the plastic control plate.

I honestly don't know what a fair price is for this...Lets say $325 obo.

I kinda wanted a black-tort Toronado already, let alone with a GHOSTBUSTERS STICKER!

But I can't possibly own a guitar with EAT MEAT carved into it..

thats gotta be a new pickguard, because my toronado black-red tort has a couple plys going on... looks cool without the black and white plys though... and different knobs... there's a dang beautiful orange one on ebay right now... i always liked the pewter one with the white pearl pickguard.... seems like them bridges gather rust pretty easy, too but you can find replacement bridges if you cant get the rust off...

Dude you came to mind when I saw the guitar because you make no bull of your penchant for black/tort and/or ghostbusters, it's twilight zone weird that of all things some prat would carve in it, THAT'S what he went with. The "Ha!" confirms my theory.

the tort and the cut of that pickguard are total shit.

still, well under four bills for a toronado is incredible.

See if that guy has the original knobs, and if he does, ask him if he'll send me one.

You do know he (as in Finboy) isn't the one selling this guitar, if he was this thread wouldn't be in this section.
