I was curious of everyones favorite shortscale guitar. Mine are Fender Jaguar and Mustang.

Mustang. That body is the only one I can get on with - the jaguar is just too wide in the upper bout. I like having 2 pups in a Fender - just a bridge or just a neck can't give me a good all-around tone in a Fender the way it can in a Danelectro or archtop.

I dunno, I kind of disagree....I almost bought a 66 musicmaster with just one pickup in the neck....you can only play one pickup at a time anyway so I don't think the brand really matters. But no I don't actually own any 1 pickup guitars.
Anyways, my favorite short scale is probably a mustang. I used to want a jaguar really bad due to chrome but they're really too much in terms of shape/size and switching for me. I was kind of wanting an orange comp stang but after I got the ric I gotta say no more guitars for a long long time

For diversity the Jaguar, for comfort the Mustang.

I prefer the Mustang to the Jaguar, because it is smaller, lighter and faster. But actually I'm not that much into trems (Mustang ang Jag Trems can be ignored at least), and I like maple necks, so maybe a Duo Sonic II with maple neck would be guitar I would like best if it would be in reach.

The Mustang and the Jaguar have always been my favourite but it's the Jaguar for me, something about it just works for me.

If it sounded better then my Jag-Stang - it just feels right.
However, I'd have to go with Jaguar on balance.

Jaguar for sure... stangs and equivalent sized shortscales just feel toy like to me... cause' I'm a fatty.

In terms of looks, comfort, ease of playing and tonal diversity, the Jaguar wins it all around for me.

Jag-stang. Lovely neck, lovely neck pickup, and it looks annoying. Plus, show up at a gig with a Jag-stang, and people will be very surprised that you can actually play guitar.
The only other shortscale I've ever played was a Jaguar, and the neck had a bit too much shoulder on it for me, but I might have got used to it if I had more time.

duo-sonic II, probably. i like mustangs obviously, but i rarely use the trem, and duos are lighter.

The 10 year old, non-guitarist version of me walked into a GC with my brother in '94/'95 and saw one just like the one I own today, thinking "that must be the nicest Fender" based on the way it looked.
Shiny and curvy and ominously melted (had only seen a strat and the odd tele before), chrome galore and switches aplenty. COOL.
Now that I have one it's actually my most beloved guitar for legitimate reasons. It ticks all the boxes.

Super sonic, sorry jaguar, but the super sonic just stands for something. Dual humbuckers, reversed body and headstock, strat trem. It's just a completely different idea than every other fender guitar. It's fender's little brother showing that THEY are the ones who can make a new guitar, something different, comfortable, and drop dead sexy.

Mustang is the only shortscale guitar I've played.. but I think it's my favourite looking. I would love to try a jag though.
