But I never really thought about the environmental aspects of it; plus, a large amount of my battery love is so I can set up quickly, usually when the kids are having half an hour watching TV, rather than fanny around with my onespot. What are those Diago things you always recommend? Might spring for one...

It's fucking obvious it is incredibly shit for the planet (I say so much on my website also) - by the way I love the site Aen, it looks fantastic.

There used to be a cheaper alternative to the Diago power station (£50) at JohnnyShredFreak (same thing but for like £20) but it's not on their website anymore. I'll email them and see if they're getting anymore in.

if you've got pedals that need batteries just get rechargeable 9 volts, they work fine for me.

I've built him both positive ground and negative ground pedals and he's insisted on battery power for both because he doesn't give a shit about the planet he's leaving for his children, clearly.

Luckily I put DC jacks on both of them that do work with regular power supplies, so at least someone is looking out for the sprogs.

As far as the environmental viewpoint that's not really a major concern IMO. Single use batteries are being made with less toxic materials that are not as bad or completely toxic free compared to 20 years ago and in many places you can even recycle them. Also in the applications where they sound best batteries last a long time.

This is another option but I have had mix results with this using the Rayovac brand of rechargeables.

Benecol has a Fuzzface (pos ground like your tonebender) and a Crowley Fuzz (regular neg ground) I built him. Threads are around the place.

Me? Yes. I've got a Onespot, but don't rate it that much. And it's tied in a knot. I may actually pony up and make a pedalboard.

I got one spot too. It's ok.

I'd sooner leave out battery power for the pedals I make. Would save a bunch on battery snaps and stereo jacks and have loads more room to jam stuff in there, safe in the knowledge that people won't be poking around shorting stuff out. However I think people still want battery power. Particularly those, like myself currently, who only use one or two pedals.

In my case it's a Harmonic Percolator and an MXR Dist+, so the batteries last for ever anyway.

No, get a power-all with little adaptor clicky things. Rechargable 9vs still die (all my rechargable batteries have died within a year or so) and the process of making them is also quite wastefull and toxic. I'll fully admit that in some cases batteris are unavoidable, but powering pedals is not one of those cases.

I don't particularly like using batteries but I have to in the sunface mike built me. That and my pitchblack are the only pedals I keep batteries in. The fuzz is obvious, but it will go on a power supply if I find one that has isolated outs. The tuner gets a battery because I use it a lot for setups and around the house tuning, which is a hastle to drag out a 1spot

Does the Diago come with all the necessary Adaptor plugs and such or do i
buy that separate?
