Splendid gear situation

Post by aen »

So after years of wheelin' and dealin' my guitar rig will reach perfection.

1. MIM 50's classic Telecaster (with MIM standard 6 saddle bridge)
Tuned to aenstandard DADAAE (which requires the 6 saddles) Total warrior, we all know why teles rock, I don't need to go into it.
This is the weapon of choice for Rock and Roll, and other high energy musical endevors

2. Squier tele custom II (No tone on neck pickup, 4 tuners)
Tuned B F# B B
Positively the beefiest and most aggressive guitar I've ever owned. Doing baritone duty for years now.
Weapon of choice for DOOM and other ultra low tuned indulgences

3. (coming soon) Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster
What? A Jazzmaster that's ready to rock, right out of the box?!??!?!?! AMAZING! I've played a few of these, and loved the hsit out of them. Will be serving tremelo/backup six string duty.
Weapon of choice for my only "official" band ATM, Follow the Follower, a sort of ambient post rock drone thing.

4. RobertOG '72 esque tele custom
Also tuend to aenstandard Wide range humbucker in the neck, 69ri bridge pickup routed STRAIGHT TO THE JACK!
Weapon of choice for this singer songwriter thing I'm recording for a homey, which I get to play some guitars on. Also is the garage (man-cave) guitar.

Twin Reverb. with Swamp Thang speakers.

Then pedals come and go, but the essentials are always there. Crybaby wah, Eau Claire Thunder, Devi Ever Torn's Peaker, MXR carbon Copy, EHX SMM/H, POG, and boss loopstation.

Finally, FINALLY there are no guitars or pedals nagging at my heart strings.

4 strings?

I'm sad to see the shell pink jag depart. Not a 24" fan?

somebody emailed me from the internets, and i thought "This would facilitate my Jazzmaster purchase." so I did it.

I like the jag a lot, but JMs are better for me. I'll probably get another jag some day.

Yeah I feel the same way now.....Although realistically I could do without my Ibanez Blazer or Hagstrom Viking if I ever need to sell it......I've got the Rickenbacker 330 I've always wanted as my main, the Ovation Tornado as my trusty backup (or main depending on where the gig is), My Gibson LP Studio for rawking the fuck out on or playing warm neck-bucker jazzy stuff, Danophobe DC-12 (which I use in the band most of the time and is really all I could ever need in a 12 and I like the neck and sound better than ric 12's), a Proco Rat and my 70 Twin......Only other thing I kind of want is a DOD 250 Overdrive (vintage yellow box).

Likewise Mr Aen! I'm in a similar boat to you only I'm not as diverse in my choices. Two axes, an acoustic and and amp does me fine. But in terms of 'getting all the sounds I want'--I think I'm about set. I'd like to get a nice 335 or hollybody one day but I wouldn't settle for that... I'd look at spending +$5k so it's one to dream about. I'm so glad the Jazzmaster is suiting your style. You got the black one right? Mmmm, should do some demoz asap!
