3.04 is just such a great sound... I've been trying to capture this sound since I picked up this pedal for myself.

haha.. appreciated. It's just guitar pedal amp so it should be fairly easy since we both play Jaguars and use EL84 amps

TOD with the gain turned up is pretty nice actually.

TOD never really worked for me, it almost sounded like it was too "HiFi" or "broad and balanced" in the frequency response, it actually sounded too full of information if that makes any sense?

Sorry wasn't the most interesting of posts....

It seems whatever I type into youtube... mike appears lol. Your demos are great and unwanky. Just watched the crybaby demo as I'm picking one of them on Monday from a work mate.

The cool cat just has that bit more gain though... which is what I felt needed. I sold my TOD. But it sure wasn't bad !!

Rolling back to 3/4 takes away the muddiness of the cool cat, and allows you to drop back on the treble which just makes it sound better... it is very sensitive and can be a little tentative, but I keep going back for more...

Just tried a lot of the other cool cats at work which are new in and they sound great... the Tremolo is lovely !!

That Wah demo is suprisingly popular, even though I can't use a Wah for shit haha

The Cool Cat range are all winners I think, pretty much. Not a dud in the house.

I had the vox wah for ages ... and thought it was the one to have but no, the crybabys sweep is just sooo much nicer...

Going back to the amp... would you stick with the EL84s ? & power tubes ?

Also, would you a suggest a speaker change in the classic 30 ?

thanks...

I wouldn't know without playing one for an extended time. What do you find you feel is "lacking" from the sound?

I don't know... I need to turn it up to full volume again to make a true judgement. It's been a while but it should happen soon, now I've joined a band again.

I just hear lots that have exchanged the speaker & tubes & they claim its made a bit difference to the sound in positive way... apparently. Perhaps they're tone twats ?? maybe I'm one too.

I'd like some warmth, full body... remove some of the muddiness ... & have more grit to the low end.

Basically I'm happy with the amp and its size and wattage... & are resistant to get rid. I would just like to add some more orange/marshall characteristics if that was possible.. I think I've ruled out the guitars and pedals from the equation.

Well it's never wise to listen to other people, some people will change everything before they've even heard the thing or made their mind up.

Give us a yell when you're more sure about things and we'll sort you with some Celestion and Eminence recommendations.

yeh I know what you're saying... I've been playing the thing on average about 2 hours a day for the last year or two... & played a number of other amps in the mean time so it's not such a rash move, but having said that I do need to crank it up again like I mentioned just before. We all know tube amps like that !! I'll keep investigating...

Thanks again !!
