Jaguar Bass is stupid bass. I've never liked it even a little bit.

I want to like it, but it just seems so unnecessary. I do like the neck, mind, though it's just from a Jazz Bass. They should have done a proper CIJ reissue of the Bass VI, they'd have made a fucking killing with that.

no they wouldn't. you all would complain that is was too much money, fender rips off everyone, and no one would buy it.
honestly what have they released in the last 10 years that we haven't said this exact same thing.
Squier not included of course because everything squier does is fucking balls to the wall
a couple people would be inspired to build your own bass VI from it and thats about it

You can get this amp:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-B-DE ... 1166259.gc
with it for free if you ask the phone rep according to Harmony Central. They just charge $20 for the shipping of the amp.
That's a stunning deal for an amp and bass. Too bad I don't need it at all.

i've played the Jag Bass. It' plays really, really well. The sounds was like a 7/10 for me...but it's great...if i had a better financial situation i'd jump on this deal hard core, with lube.

Is the switching all the same as a regular jag?

never having owned one, i couldn't tell you. but i believe the switching essentially turns the active PUPs into passive PUPs...if I'm not mistaken, again.
if anyone wants to hop on this deal, I'll trade you cash + my strat for it!

The wiring is a bit suspect in these... I know of a few that have gone buzzy and intermittent...
Good bass though imo...

AW! WHACK! I was totally serious too! LAMEZ0RZ...oh well, nice to see them at least trying to counteract the utter retardation of Fender's price-hikes!

yeah, the switches control the active-ness. my friend has one, i actually quite like it. though he complains about the neck being uncomfortable, for some reason.

I've played one quite extensively and I gotta say they're kick ass basses. They sound great and feel great, and they look sweet too. I say it's good they added a new design to their bass lineup. The neck is quite similar to a jazz bass, the body is pretty hefty. It's a solid bass.

I thought the concept was great when it first came out, but really didn't like it after playing it.
I think the only bass I'd really LIKE playing is a Ric 4003......I had a 70's Electra violin bass I really dug too but it was so neck heavy and plinky in character. Soooo I guess I'm still saving my pennies. Part of me still wants to do it, and I probably would if it were similar savings on an equal quality jazz or p bass.
