Subdecay Echobox gets uglier

Post by James »

They've gone from the sexy plain white to a not-so-sexy blue ripple.

Also there are these two computer-generated images. One is just a normal one with a slightly different graphic that comes alongside the smaller one (same naming system and from the same site) the other is a smaller box without the toggle switch. If it's real you likely control the modulation by turning the depth all the way down. Perhaps Brian was looking at making a small box version? From memory the standard box uses a lot of it's space for the circuit so it seems unlikely. Also some of the functions have different names on the smaller box ('repeat' instead of 'repeats' and 'rate' instead of 'speed') so it's more likely that it's nothing to do with Subdecay.

Aesthetics aside, I still want one. Preferably an older style one. That second image looks great.

The mod has always been controled by depth knob alone. The toggle is for true bypass/trails.

You know what? I actually knew that and was silly enough to assume otherwise once the switch was taken away in that other image.

*feels silly*

I actually think without the changed "EchoBox" text the new one would look ok. It's the new logo that does it.

always been a fan of the pedal because of its simplicity, both use and looks.
I dont mind the new looks but if i were buying one i would shoot for the older graphics

I like the older one. The new one looks intentionally nu-boutique

I think the graphics are shit on both old and new. I'd take the old one if I had to choose though. The new one tries to look fancier, but ironically ends up looking cheaper.

I'm glad I got an old version plain blue prometheus. I hate the new graphics.
