i can't find my master temp with the depths for a jazzy,
so i need to know all the routing depths, i want to say its around 32 mms for all except for the pups, but im not 100 certain and i need to be.
and also i need someone with a cp jaguar or jazzy to measure the distance from the trem plate to the bridge.

is the distance between trem and bridge the same on the cp jag and jazzy? because they're not on the standard guitars. the jag trem is like a 1/4" closer.

im almost 100% sure that the distance from the trem to the bridge is the same on the vintage stuff, as odd as that sounds, but i rememeber somewhere hearing that and being like, "well, i guess that makes sense"
either way, i just wanna know how much closer it is.

Would the bridge not have to be in a different place given that the body is the same shape and the necks are different lengths? Would it be that the trem route is in the same place but the bridge isn't?

actually the jm body and jag body are different shapes, it doesn't look like it from a first look but you reall compare the two then you can see the difference, especially if you have templates.

I suppose this is why I should stay out of threads that are about guitars I've never owned?

I'm going to play my first Jazzmaster this week. There's a guitar shop here that has a CP Jazzy for far, far too much, and a Squier fretless that I love for a reasonable amount. Really interested in both.

they only reason i ever knew about it was becuz jcyphe schooled a noob one time, and then once i had templates of both i realized that he was correct and the noob was just blowing smoke, as usual.

It seems odd to me that Fender would machine entirely new body shapes rather than just change the routing on existing ones.

I suspect that I don't understand the realities of guitar manufacturing at that time.

maybe you are right, now I can't remember if it was a small difference between the trem and bridge or just between the trem and the bottom of the guitar (which it definitely has since the bridge is moved up slightly). I wish I could find this picture on offset where someone overlayed drawings of the bodies and you can see the minor differences.

The Jag and Jazzy are very different body shapes. The Jazzy is much bigger and chunkier, the Jag is way sleeker.

and i can't seem to remember/find my old master template with the measurements nor the sheet that had all of my measurements.

i really need to know the pup depth, everything else can be deep as all balls.

no, im pretty sure that the pup routes are too deep in that body.
that was one of the things i was going to address.
