I've had this for a while now, been keeping it at work for downtime strummingz.. Squier M-80. Set neck, brushed chrome hardware. Duncan design JB(ish) in bridge and Jazz(ish) in neck.
Like a mustang and an SG had a really awesome baby.
Not bad for $140. Neck is more mustang than SG despite the 24.75 scale, but it's thick enough that I'm happy with it.

Reminds me of that ovation Josh homme has.

I think it was fender's go at the ESP market... failed miserably. These are such nice guitars and they go for a pittance.
Thank god squier is willing to break the mold a bit, in a world of strats, jags, teles, and stangs... I'm glad to have this.

I thought that at first too. But trust me, we're wrong. It's the right headstock for this guitar. It looks right in context.
I really think this may be the furthest fender has ever strayed for their laurels. It's an amazing guitar, easily worth the original $500 price tag and a fucking bargain at less than $150.

the only thing i'm not diggin' at second glance is the brushed hardware...and MAYBE it could do with a spicing up color-wise...but i dig all else.

I actually like the brushed metal. The only thing that really puts me off is the inlays. They're all fancy and seem out of place on such a sleekly minimal guitar. I'd have preffered dots or nothing. And I wish it had an ebony fretboard, but in that case it would need black hardware as well.

They also came in wine red, and two different kinds of burst. The scale was 24.75.

no bursts, just translucent paint. A mapley light brown and an oxe blood red.
The M-80 also had a bolt on version with much cheaper hardware.

hmm...burst would probably be my choice, though it could be bo-ring on that thing..wine red? that could work...but i think they need some more pastel-type colors...still, probably good bang-for-buck on them i'd guess.

The color is called
Antique Burst. There was also another one that looked really similar but was called something else.

wowsa! never seen that one! Is that binding too? M-80 never had those options.
