New Danelectro Reissue... Anyone Interested?

Post by Yarko »

Hey,
Danelectro is releasing an original spec reissue of the 1959 Short Horn this October for $400. Unlike previous Short Horn reissues, this one is gonna be "identical" to original one. So identical that it's gonna have ivory keys on the tuners. Don't know if they can get away with that. There's also gonna be a "modified" version available.
Preorder Now

What's your opinion of the Danelectro reissues of late? I think I played a DC 59 that was heavily modded with a P90, so I don't know how a stock one feels and pays. I was thinking of getting one of these, but gonna have to sell my PS3 to scrape enough cash, anyone interested?

You should have just included a list of links to every thread that's made every 2 weeks, that always makes it past 2 pages, and get's the same responses.

I love the fact that immediately there are three posters bemoaning the fact that Dano threads are controversial in a thread where there has been no controversy.

I think the guitars are cool. I really like the white one with gold hardware actually.

However I wouldn't buy one because I do not agree with people hating civil rights so much that they donate money against it.

how the hell are they gonna do ivory?

also, as much as i like danos, they're made of poo, and shouldn't cost very much.

I find it interesting that everyone attacks danelectro for killing elephants yet no one says anything about fender who clearly kills millions of tortoises. REFORMIST PC OMGPOLITICSWTF!!!111!!111

If the tuners are the correct weave-line Grover types like on 50s Danos, I'll buy a set aftermarket for my U1.

Otherwise I have no interest. At least the Chinese Danos are better than the Korean ones IMHO. The PUPs get as close as anything I've heard.

They could be the best guitars in the world and I'd still not be interested because Danelectro are one step up from Fred Phelps.

Any other guitars?

Post by Yarko »

I was just looking for a decent guitar on the cheap. Any suggestions? I like teles.
Sorry to anyone who was offended by my post, but I've never heard of Danelectro abusing human rights. True that Danelectro stepped over the line, but shouldn't we boycott all companies that make cheap guitars in the east? Like epiphone? (can't think of any others right now)

My Sx telecaster thinline copy is a bargain at £120. Neck felt almost identical to this Fender telecaster deluxe i played

pickups are dire though.

GFS is running a 10% off sale this weekend with coupon code LABORDAY, you could snap an xaviere up pretty cheap.

its nothing like a sg as far as that goes.

the only thing it has in common is 2 humbuckers, a toggley and 4 knobs.

even the neck on the thing is miles better than a gibson faded sg.

hell the neck on the cheapass fucking epiphone lp100 is better than the faded series gibsons
