It's selling for 160 e. The seller says it's a SUNN Mustang Bass (licenced) from the 80's. "Good as new" . If only I had the money. But somehow it seems fishy. No mustang pu! P-bass pu!

What do you think?

My first ever guitar was a Sunn Mustang P-bass, the one in the picture is defo not a sunn-mustang. It looks like an 80's Aria.
The Sunn-Mustang is basically a Squier with a different logo, I think they stopped making them around 91.

I asked the same question: http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28270 In the auction is a Sunn Mustang Bass. These are not Mustang copies, but Precision-Copies. however 160 € is no big money for a good bass. but from that pic nobody can tell if that one is good ...

You're right! And I read that message. I think me haz teh bad memory. The pic looked a bit like a pointy mustang, though. Bah, already have a RI mustang bass. Guess I'll let it pass.

a Sunn amp would kick ass. Too bad they don't make 'em anymore.

I had a Sunn Mustang, which was basically a strat rip off. It was a proper piece of shit. Worst guitar I've ever owned.

They were sub squier Fender liscensed copies made in India. I had a P Bass that was reasonable, but not worth more than about £50

Yeah, they used like mdf for the bodies or some such shit where as squier used real wood. No offense fran.

I sold a Squier Telecaster early this year that was made out of the best korean plywood 8) It was a late 80ties model. But it was a cool sounding guitar, partly japanese and US hardware on it, exept for the cheap tuners.

That's because they made of plywood. They are NOT re-branded Squires.

Being made of plywood does not make a guitar bad.

However the Sunn Mustangs aren't great. I've played worse though, Marlin anyone?

My first guitar was a red Marlin Sidewinder. But it was still better than my mate Ben's Sunn Mustang.

The era of Sunn Mustang (stratocasters) were plywood, this was in the mid-1980s. The Squires of that era were high quality Japanese made guitars...

Some 1990s Squires were plywood, yes.
