How much would you pay for this Mustang?

Post by Mungodora »

EBAY MUSTANG LINK

Just curious.. am thinking of saving up to nab me a mustang, but not really familiar with them or how much they go for/ you should be paying for a half decent one.

Well I am thinking either a tele or a mustang really... I am torn :?

looks like a 65RI (buttons, can't see contour), so you can still buy those new. i wouldn't pay more than $600-700 for one (i think they're like $900 new here - fucking retarded).

For sure its a 65RI. As Hotrod said white tipped tuners but also the tort colour/pattern and decal.

That guitar should land between 400 - 500 € I'm nearly sure it's a 65 RI. Very decent, well made guitars - but the new price a little overpriced, considering that you get a japanese Jazzmaster or Jaguar for over 100 € less- I wanted it too in that colour, but it became a blue one.

i'd advise you to do some research and find out exactly what it is you're after before buying one (if you want one), there are quite a few options to consider.

by research i mean find out what different models are available, and cross reference new prices with what they go for on ebay and classified ads. that way you're less likely to end up with something you regret buying.

yes, of course. But you can't do much wrong with buying a used MG 65 - exeption would be a heavily damaged one. Only thing that can happen is that you pay a bit too much because you are too greedy. I bought mine for 450 € and that is money I always get back for it, as it is in great condition.

But if you're not sure if you'd prefer a Tele ... they are very different, and there are lots of Teles in evry price class imaginable (some cheaper than a cheap Pedal, others as expensive as a good car ;) )

It's a 65RI. They used to retail for £499 and when I bought one that's what I paid. These days they are £569.

I would say £350 would be great price and £400+ would be average. They are fantastic guitars and far superior to the '69 RIs you see around (sonic blue/tort, custard yellow/tort)

I'm not looking to actually buy anything yet. It's just I've been wanting a fender for ages. Am still researching and looking into whats what really.

I wish there was a shortscale 101 thread hehe
