Hello, I was wondering if anyone has tried to put Wide Rangers in a Super Sonic body, I've seen people do it for Jagmasters, but never a Super Sonic. Cheers.
Does anyone have any experience modifying Super-Sonics or pickup replacements? I know it sounds like a noob question, but I'm relatively new to the Shortscale game.
Yeah, I love Paul's Jag Sonic, its pure choice. I've seen that bastardized Super Sonic before, its just fugly IMHO, especially with that touch screen on it. Does anyone know if the GFS Wide Range pickups are the same size as the Fender reissues? Also, is the sound of the GFS ones more like the original Wide Range than the recent Fender reissues?
I heard of people using GFS wide rangers before but have never really read up on them till now. So in theory if I just swap out the pickups and trim the pickguard, it should work without some major spacing issues?

Yes.

i think the pickups are too close for two humbs anyways, i'd either do two single coils or an SC in the neck, and a humb in the bridge. or two mini hums would be way OG.
The humbuckers in my Super Sonic have a great sound to them, I dont feel they are too close. I haven't experienced mini humbuckers. I was thinkin of the 2 single coil idea, but I bought a cheap tele to cover my single coil needs. I was thinking of the Wide Range humbuckers, for the shear power they produce, and the unique factor that it brings.
Both of my supersonics have dimarzio super distortions in the bridge. And the one has a dimarzio air in the neck. I hardly ever use any other pickup besides the bridge position mostly...

do vintage rail in the neck, and hot rail in the bridge. you won't.

the "you won't" only works if it is a compelling idea. that, is not.
the gfs WRHBs are a decent way to go. they're not the same as the WRHBs but the RI's are just buckers anyways but they do have a more jangly sound. the gfs's even more so. if you want something different thats shoe-in. they also look great
