they aren't crap at all, they're decent guitars. you probably spent the whole time you had it wishing it was an SG or something.

Actually, I spent a large amount of time wishing it was a white sheraton.

I thought the ex-stewart now BobAC one was quite nice. I didn't have much of a go on it at Doogfest but it had a certain charm about it. It wasn't the sort of guitar where you pick it up and think 'fuck me I want one of these' but I could definitely image hours of sitting around noodling on it while watching Attenborough Sundays.

I imagine it's similar to that feeling you have towards a girlfriend who has started to feel a bit more like a family member or close friend. You carry on sleeping together, spending time cuddled up watching Attenborough Sundays but she never puts on the good dress and looks at you in a way that smacks you in the balls with how good she looks.

That's all based on a 5-10 go and a brief chat with Stweart about it, with Noirie foolishly stumbling one Gaymers closer to doom in the background but I think that's the opinion I'd hold even if I were quite familiar with it.

i think of them as a kind of ugly duo-sonic. although the pickups are further apart and the metal guard gives it a slightly different sound. i think once jon gets the OG bridge saddles on it it'll make it feel a bit more solid, they're chunky like mustang ones.

There's a "used" red one of these in my local guitar shop and they also want over 500 quid!
Am i right in thinking these were really cheap and only slightly dearer than crappy Kay guitars you could get from the catalogue?
Surely they must have sold shit-loads, so why's the price so high now?

I found it a bit thin and bright but it was nice enough, nice neck as I recall.

the price is going up because they're now classed as 'vintage', the same reason early 80s squiers are starting to get expensive too.

that and the early squiers are some of the best post-pre-cbs (haha) fenders ever made.
