OK, I am sure this is a bloody old topic for most, but as a noob it's not to me so I am going to ask anyway. Looking to upgrade cheap nasty patch cables on my pedals and a decent power supply that will cope with most stuff (mainly EHX) . Thinking George L for cables and Diago for power???? Is this a no brain question that I have already answered myself???

I suppose my real question is: Is it worth spending the EXTRA cash on something like a Voodoo Labs Power Plus 2 or a T-Rex Fuel Tank? Is it , to be honest dead money just to have an overly designed and crafted box or do they justify the extra expense.

Diago powerstation and venom adders.
Venom adders are cheap and decent. Theres a cheaper (i think no-name) version of the diago that is apparently no different, but I can't remember the website it's on.

Aye not many places seem to stock 'em.
I think I may have bought them from here:

I'm sure it was the cheapest I found them. I bought 10 about 8 or 9 months ago and they're all still going strong, even after being subjected to my poorly laid out pedalboard.

The cheapest, and the only place to find them I think. They look decent. Might get some of those for my shorter connections, and a couple of George L's for the longer ones.

Very good price, shame they aren't right-angled jacks. Going to cause some pedal board issues I fear!!!!

I use a Diago powerstation and Venom Adder right angled patch cables. They're cheap and good quality and can be shortened/repaired easily.

I use batteries and a bunch of patch cables I got free with something I bought off eBay, I forget what it was. Lately I bought some George L cables off Cowbell and I've been thinking of getting a Diago thingy so's I'm not bitch slapping Mother Nature with all my batteries.

I use these,

.
I dont think they have a name but they work great and they're cheap too. As far as power goes i use the 1spot combo pack, It powers all 8 of my pedals, including my DL4 with no noise at all. its great, I am going to get a second one pretty soon too.

it might look from my post as if i use that ^ but i don't, that's the details for kim's one.
i just use a daisychain from my tuner and another 9v supply. i'm going to have to do a spot of re-jigging soon though, annoyingly.
and venom adders for patches.

I just use a single digitech powersupply and a daisy chain? seems to work fine for me. for patch cables I just the cheapest possible cables on ebay. I really don't care if they're "sucking tone", my guitar already has an abundance of tone from the get go.

I couldn't find any venom adders, but they were banging venom mamba's out for next to nothing on eBay a couple of months back; the only reason I didn't go for these was that they were 12" rather than 6" long and had straight jacks rather than angled; I'm lucky enough to have a solder monkey at work who can rustle me up some patch cables (although I am still waiting on her...). In the meantime, I'm using those ropey multi-coloured patch leads.
As far as a power supply is going, I recently got one of those faux-Diago things from JohnnyShredPants, or whatever they're called - they're sold out now anyhow. It's very good, unlike my OneSpot, which is noisy.
