I've got the little bit around 0:25 down. I know its not great but its something.
So please shortscale help me figure the rest out!

For the intro I know the chords but not necessarily the shapes.

It's like E, G, E, G, D, G.
He only does the D, G once, then it's E, G from what I can tell.

I'm fairly sure they're played as powerchords with the root on the A string so xx997x for the E.

That G is confusing me though, you can definitely hear the G octave in there as though he's playing it as a three string powerchord but something doesn't sound quite right.

It might be much simpler than I expect though. A few days ago I was trying to work out this one chord in a Bowerbirds songs, I was trying all kinda of weird shapes based around a C/G chord only to find out it was E fucking minor. The first chord you learn.
