Behringer Gone Bust? Or Sales Wank?

Good afternoon Mr Livesley,
The pedal you have ordered is currently listed as “call for availability and has been for some time. The reason for this is because we have stopped stocking this brand and would have the opportunity to explain this before you bought it. We do not currently have any alternatives and it does look like we will not be able to fulfill the order as Behringer has gone bust.
We are very sorry to inform you of this but do not want to make the situation worse, and therefore would ask if there are any other products you need as an alternative or if you prefer a refund ? Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Regards
Sales Department
The Music King Ltd
Don't just mark it "call for availability". Remove the product if you have "stopped stocking this brand".

I say sales wank
http://www.behringer.com/EN/home.aspx doesn't say anything about going belly up.
What can they gain by claiming behringer has gone bust?

gone bust ? que ?
i agree if a shop doesn't stock something, or even if it's usually in stock but isn't a the moment they should fucking keep their website up to date so you don't have to bother placing an order and then having to go through all this shit waiting or waiting for a refund or dealing with their retarded customer service. if you don't have it don't make it order-able, makes sense no ?

It'll just be some clueless old dipshit talking out of his arse. I've noticed that people at guitar shops tend to talk utter pish about a lot of things
That is my biggest annyance as well with fucking music equip websites, is when you place an order on the website and then get a reply saying that it's out of stock and it'll be weeks. FUCKING DON'T ADVERTISE IT THEN.

I don't know why someone would put that in an email were it not true. I have requested a refund and said that it was not something I was aware of (Behringer being bust that is)

oh yeah people at guitar shops tend to be so full of shit most of the time, there's only a few shops here with only a few employees i can actually stand, lots of them keep going on and on about everything fender makes these days is utter crap and there's no difference between mexican or american or japanese stuff and it's all just marketing and labels and similar bullshit then they go on about how awesome brands like koch are but so underestimated because musicians are snobs, go fuck yourself will you.

Yup, they're 80% bullshit and 20% ignorance generally. There are a few good people out there though.

It sounds like 'we don't have any of these and no longer carry behringer but um.. before you go buy the behringer somewhere else um.. you can't yeah they um/ they went bust, see. so now you have to buy something else that we stock. honest.'
I hate guitar shops for this sort of thing. If they don't sell it it doesn't exist.

Bust? I think the choice of words alone makes the claim dubious.
I'm not your glue sniffing buddy, and we're not in 1978 NYC, I'm a customer.

there's nothing i can see on the net that suggests they've gone bankrupt. a post on a forum somewhere from 2005...
unless it hasn't been announced yet for some reason. even then it would have leaked in about 5 minutes.

Guitar stores do that all the time, there's two in my town, the one down the road from my house is total shit, The guys in there are just so stuck in there ways of classic rock and what not. They only carry boss pedals and some dunlop. They will do the "I think they went out of business thing" too and then try to get you to buy a blues driver over a fulltone OCD. Its just how guitar store pricks work. I understand trying to get business and trying to sell me stuff, but telling me that fulltone is out of business is just lying.

None of the local shops around me seem to sell behringer. Which sucks since I want a bass overdrive and their metal pedal. But paying for shipping kinda ruins the bennefit of them being so damned cheap.

If you're going a behringer metal pedal get the 'super metal' over the 'ultra metal'. Its a clone of the boss heavy metal as used by MBV.
