The smaller scale makes it extremely easy to play you will find your fingers zipping up and down the neck at the speed of light! This guitar is so light you can hit a chord and feel the body vibrating in your hands [Is that really necessary ! ] A great original 30 year old Fender for not much money! these guitars have the same pots and pickup as a 79 Stratocaster so there we have it,previous owners include the Black Prince and the Dark Knight! Thank you.I have recently noticed the tuners are reissue ,you would,nt know they look exactly the same and all the mounting holes are in the exact same place so no problems. The guitar comes with a gigbag and will now sell at the bargain price of £399.99 as they say find one cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!.
Its pretty but not sure about the price.

I don't get the starting bid same price as buy it now thing. If you want to pay 399 for it you'll click buy it now.

It's a nice looking example of that type, but I think that price is about standard for them.

I posted this in Stewarts recent thread about the '65 DUO II . £399 BIN is a decent price. I doubt it will sell though, it's been on there loads of times.
There is THIS '77 white one too, a couple of hours more to go than that black one, but its at £350 atm. Both are nice, and good prices. For most people though it's a lot of money for just 1 pickup and no trem.

I also notice ANOTHER musicmaster bass amp is up there :P

You can never tell with ebay, the prices are all over the shop. When I got my old MM it was for around the same price you sometimes see necks going for on their own. The guy I sold my old one to eventually traded it in p/x to a local guitar shop. When I spotted it in there for sale it was priced at £300 and that is in a shop that normally excels at highway robbery so make of that what you will. 70s student models just don't seem to command much of a price which is a shame cos Fender was in a real upswing with the later ones.

It definately seems that there are deals out there to be had. Usually if a guitar doesn't sell repeatedly on the 'bay you've got a good chance of getting it cheap if you email the seller.

I just find it odd that i could get 750 for my maplestang straight away, yet a 60s duo will struggle to reach 600 and later musicmasters go for next to nothing. Is a trem that important? I don't think i've ever seen someone actively using one on a mustang in a band situation.

I'd actually go for a duo over a Mustang. With so many peeps locking the trems etc I suppose it might be more about percieved value. Plus you'd prob be shocked how many players have never reall heard of the Duo and MM.

I'd have thought it'd just be because Duos are relatively less known. Most of the guitar players I know who don't have a clue or interest beyond Strats/Teles/Les Pauls only vaguely know what a Mustang is, never mind a Duo-Sonic or Musicmaster.

i suppose it's good news if you're into duos etc, cos they're probably never going to be very expensive.

I got a offer to buy a 60's Duo Sonic for about 1400 euros. If I had the money. And if it wasn't so expensive...

My 63 Duo was £90, and my 65 Musicmaster/Duo was £400.

The 63 was a huge bargain from Aen, it had come in even cheaper to the shop he was working in at the time.

A 70's Musicmaster should be worth at least £299 though, £399 in a music shop maybe.
