jaguar parts on ebay

i was trying to find a bundle of parts for secret jaguar project, and stumbled upon this:
Looks normal right? then why does it appear to be all one piece?
it actually looks like the chrome plates are laid over the one piece guard, does it not? obviously not a jazzmaster guard, i'm certainly perplexed.
also, what is with the foam jism on the back of the pups?
any informations?

A serviceman Jag is basically a fake copy of a Jaguar. They were made and sold to soldiers in vietnam, hence the name serviceman. There is some info at the bottom of the page here:

Ooh, I ain't never not seen no inside o'no perishin' serviceman before, so to speak. I didn't realise the scratchplate and "chrome" plates were all one piece on them!
