Looks & feels great. Only able to try it at low volumes tonight but it sure doesn't warrant the extra money ca$h over the Dano cool cat drive. It feels tighter & has clearer intentions, can't wait to give it real testing. Either pedal really encapsulate the sound I've been after for quite some time !! I think I'll buy a MBM version too when funds accept, and do a 3 way demo !!!!!!!

I love the OCD. Granted I got mine cheap throuhg Mike/Mickie but I think the original is worth the cash. It's my most used pedal by some distance. It coveres such a large range of how I wnat my guitar to sound. If I want to play for a bit with a certain sound and think through my dirt pedals to think which is most appropriate, I tend to go OCD more than anything else.

I compared the orginal to a MBM version and the differences were miniscule. They're also different versions, I think maybe mine is a V3 and Mike used a V4 circuit. The differences might even be down to small differences in knob tweaking but thetwo pedals were close enough that if you weren't sat down next to a lud amp carefully A/Bing the two you'd never be able to tell. If Mike swapped the innards of my OCD for his version, excluding any differences in knob taper, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference and I use the pedal almost everytime I plug a guitar into an amp.

Not tried the Cool Cat Drive but, and although I have two dano mini pedals that I like, fuck Dano. I'd still be interested in hearing how close they are, though. The Timmy comparison wasn't as close as I thought it would be.

OCD is probably my favorite overdrive pedal, I have a clone with a booster in the same box, it sounds wonderful.

I think it was Doogfest II where I was trying a few pedals through my amp (it must have been Doogfest II to have my amp there) and slammed a salt boost into the OCD. The delight on Mike's face nearly overpowered the glorious fuzz tones.

Salt Booster --> OCD = Hell yes!

The tone knob and lp/hp are far more useful on the ocd... I found on the cool cat I was knocking down the gain and pulling back on the treble and then repeating the procedure... again and again and again... finding the sweet spot was always negotiable.

If you have a red LED it's a newer one, though I don't know what number. I think 4. If it's blue you have to go by the serial number I think. Mines 137.. so if it's near that it's probably 3.

Awesome stuff. I fell in love with the OCD at doogfest, I didn't like going by the demos but trying it out in person that was changed.

I <3 the OCD/Hyperpak Mike made me. Its fucking brill and the two of em on together, Fuzzy goodness =D.

It is a very cool pedal and definitely works really well if you want some chunky bass response.

You're noticing what I did with the CC Drive - the extra output buffer they installed amkes it way bright compared to the OCD and you have to pull the tone right back to compensate. Boosting it is indeed a very fun experience.

O.k. tried it once more, and agree It still feels tighter & with clearer intentions... bit more organic sounding. Fills me with a bit more confidence when attacking the notes.

The dano is certainly more trebly, slightly more gain & more hollow sounding, not so much weight behind the sound. Again, not really much in it.. I will keep both though but the ocd will take the Dano's place.

Yep. That's an OCD all right.

I think the tone control on the OCD is just about perfect for what it does. The extremes give you as much as you could want of either bass or treble but are still very useable.

Just dialed the volume up quite bit on the amp and needed to knock back on the treble, so I think it'll be just fine.

How is it playing with your other pedals? That's often the only complaint leveled at the OCD.

I had to pull the power supply from one of the effects so it wasn't ideal in terms of testing. but I dabbled a bit with the digi delay and pog... no real suprises. I'll report back later.

Hooked up the OCD to the rest of the effects. It's much more rawkess (sp?) & gritty, it'll definitely cut through the mix without becoming weedy which the is Dano is capable of. Operates nicely with the rest of the effects, I'm a happy boy.

Because the enclosure is screwed on at the side I had to bend my chain link fixings to a right angle for screwing the the board. I only fitted the 2 because the others snapped on me as I bent them... its totally solid regardless.

I also recently acquired a standard Jim Dunlop Wah which sits outside the box as I'll rarely use it... and when I do... its battery powered, and I've got a spare patch cable ready & waiting.
