Does anyone here use CC for anything? Rights protection is implicit to the originator unless otherwise specified. If you don't expect to make any money on your creations, why not open them up to others to freely distribute, borrow, or enjoy?
I am looking into it for my stuff. Just curious.

i use it for a lot of my skate photos as well as some of my music releases. it really depends on what is to be done with it.
for example
j - ralnyk - art deco is dead = Public Domain (via CC)
j - ralnyk - turn your back on me = CC
j - ralnyk - Liars & Thieves = CC
Serf X - serfx.isdead = CC
-- I'd link them, but this isn't the whore house.

yup its handy to be able to had a license for your work to people, sure bmi/socan whatever is the same, and you are much more likely to get paid, plus they track your plays
but i'm pretty sure that i don't care about that stuff at all
if i did i wouldn't give it away for free on the internets.
creative commons has helped a lot of people find new music, documentaries, photographers, that i'm sure would never have been considered before.
i mean you still have to put in the work to get your name out there and pay your dues.
but this just makes things like licensing that little bit easier, and you still own it, you can still sell it, you can still make money.
