I'll get straight to it, is there anyone who makes a short scale SG, i love the SG but just can't get along with the real thing.

Well... their already pretty shortscale at 24.75". I've seen some musicmaster SG types at 20" but that's just way too small. You may want to look at different neck profiles rather than scale length if you have a hard time with SG's. There's a huge variety from slim profile to the standard Gibson baseball bat that it sounds like you're having a rough go with.

I don't know if Gibson ever made a shorterscale SG. Epiphone has some new thing out that looks hideous and is a shorter scale sg.

Gibson did have many shorter scale models like the follwing.

Good old Epiphone. The fact they even made that model impresses me, its kind of considerate in an old fashioned way.

Have you tried the ones with the slim neck profile?

SGs are decent enough, but the neck heel joint and the dive kind of keep me away

Plus I got my HH jag so it out SGs the SG as far as I'm concerned

None if the SGs I have do the neck dive thing, though it took me a long time to find non fatty-boom-batty necks.

I really disagree with that. The only similarity is the humbuckers. I love my HH but it's not comparible at all.

Look into the 60s Gibson Melody Maker SGs..they are light..have sort of an A width neck and are very very light in weight!

What about the Melody Maker SG...is that not short scale?...I know I played one that had a single pickup years ago, and I remember liking it, but I can't remember for sure whether or not it was short scale.

There is one shortscale version of the SG that I know about...but it's probably not what you want to hear.

It's the SG 4-String Bass, and it's a 30.5" shortscale monster. BTW: this is Mike Watt's signature bass (but his has tons of mods).
