finally got pics of the strat I got last week. behold...

the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Strat in Candy Apple Red!

super glossy headstock with slotted tuners!

the previous owner did not know how to properly set up a trem, after a couple minutes of un-tightening the claw and stringing up some 11's it works like a dream.
only problem is I cant find an allan wrench small enough to fix the crazy high saddles

I'm really happy with everything about it. Though I would like a bridge tone control, how would I go about wiring the bridge p-up to the neck tone pot? I saw in another thread you can wire the bridge p-up to the middle tone, but I feel wiring it to the neck instead of the middle would allow pos. 2 (bridge + mid) to be more versatile than wiring to the middle

As for using the neck tone control for neck and bridge, try this:

Thanks Mike! I'm new to wiring/soldering so I'm glad this doesn't look too difficult.
I fully agree on the CV's, I think it's safe to say that they are better than all of the Fender Mexican standards I've ever played.

its the neck and overall construction that makes them a winner for me. they just FEEL solid as a rock.
i would recommend doing a pull pot for a "bridge on" option, but i just like funky wiring

It's hard to tell since i put new strings on it, but every time I've used the trem it has stayed in tune. even when I was stretching the strings with it (grabbing the reverb handle and flailing my arm about).

The Classic Vibe series is really nice. I love my Duo Sonic. Tempts me to try a strat or tele.

I have the same problem with my saddles 'bridge'(Fender Mexican), I just cant find the wrench small enough..
that would fit.. it makes me sad.. cause my string heights are fuc*ed.

I use some Craftsman hex screwdrivers (star shaped), like you use on computer screws

usually the allen key comes with the guitar. I have a couple. you should just go to the hardware store and get a cheap little allen key set.

yea, I did that and I got 1,5 (somemessure dont know) and it was too big, so I think I need size 1, but couldnt find such small one.
So I will give a try to Craftsman Torque (thanks for advice, aaaagain) (:

/ bought my strat in a shop in regensburg (while on a trip) and they didnt give the wrenches and keys, and a bag..
they thought Im a fool from eastern europe.. which I was, but oh well, never going to that store again /
