i can't even tell what it is that i dislike...
is it the look of the pickups?
the color?
the hideous control plate?
the bridge?

I think it looks really cool. Even the giant control plate. Such a nice case as well.

The volume knob looks really close to the strings.

They're pretty sweet. My uncle has pretty much that exact same one. I used to have a MusicMan Stingray guitar which was almost exactly the same. different control plate, same pups. Pretty much the same shape. I regret selling it. I had no idea what I had, as I didn't think it was worth much or collectible.
I recorded a track with it once. If you wanna hear it go here:
http://radio3.cbc.ca/bands/de-Zen-Jenga
it's the third track. Yesterdazed... The first 3 tracks are recorded on decent equipment. The others are xtra lo-fi computer mic recordings.
the stingray is the electric track. the other guitar is a Godin LGX3 w/ piezo setting.

That control plate is ridiculous.

I think the knobs are in the exact same location as on a strat. the pickup selector switch too.

Yeah it probably is. I think it's the chrome so close that makes it look weird.

I've always loved those guitars. One popped up on the raleigh craigslist a couple months ago for only like $150 or something ridiculously cheap, and I responded to it immediately when I saw it but it was gone, I didn't think that many people in raleigh liked stuff like that, but apparently someone snatched it up before me.

Very cool Sabre.
Without knowing anything about the guitar I am immediately drawn to it's mini switches, maple neck and brownness.

Dunno what I think of this. I didn't know what to make of it a few days ago and I still don't now.
