Is this a Good Deal? Found a Squier Cyclone for $150. I might offer $75 for it.

Does the cyclone body have the same dimensions as a Mustang? Can you put a 24" neck on it? I know the Cyclone comes with the 24.75" scale.

I made the mistake of trying to put a Squier Vista Series Jagmaster Neck on a new Jagmaster and it screwed the intonation because the Chinese Jagmasters use a Special conversion neck to get the Jagmasters to be 24" and the Vista Neck was actually 24" neck.

I thought it would be fun to drop a mustang bridge and neck on it if it was possible.

on the list hes calls it a shortscale but i thought the cyclone was gibson scale? (24.75") i dnt know anything about the squire cyclones but the fender ones were decent enough quality. i can see what kind of mods ur thinking of though.

true. nothing wrong with having a beater guitar.

the only neck that will work on that is a 24.75 scale, or a special convertion neck made for a 24.75 setup.

I've always wanted one of those, but am not willing to pay Fender prices for one. But the squiers don't seem to ever pop up on the resale market.

These guitars are proper shit. I bought one and gave it away. I would've felt guilty but my friend didn't have a guitar at the time so shit is better than nowt (but only just)

Remember when Mex Fenders were really bad? These are like that but even worse. AVOID!

i bought one stock a few years ago and i actuall really liked it, but i ended getting smashed and smashing the body and for the last 2 years it has been sitting in pieces(minus the body,i glued it back together and sold it to someone for like 10 bucks)
the neck is great, and the fretting is FAR superior to my cv duo.
i think i bought mine for 100 bucks from blandest.

Mine was cheap too but it was a mix of the worst things about a strat + bad craftmanship. I'm not trying to stir the pot I just really hated that guitar.

Tastes in guitars are always subjective, to me it is the worst guitar I've ever owned.

quility control can be all over the place so i guess that you may have gotten a "dud" much like my cv duo was a "dud"

I bought the thing cos it ticked all my contemporary/oldschool boxes on paper, it just wasn't for me. In all fairness the friend I gave it to really likes it. So my hatred might be true, though in the minority.

Thanks for the info. I don't need another guitar since I just got my AVRI Jag ( and I love it more each time I play it). I was just trying to see if you could convert it to a mustang the way you can a Duo sonic or Music master. They would have to make a 24.75" scale neck with a 24" conversion. Doubt that even exists. If I get another Squier, it will be another Classic Vibe or Vista Series.

Classic Vibe or Vista Series is a totally different class (IMO). Bide your time and pick up a MM, Duo or Stang if that's the flavour you're after, you'll be abe to pick one up at some point for a decent price.

I already have a Classic Vibe Duo Sonic, just looking at the deals. Definitely Good advice.

and with that said, even the CV and vista series are in totally different classes than each other.

vista is more true to vintage specs/feel, and CV is more for the, well, 'vibe.' with my vista's, i've always felt like i'm playing a vintage instrument. with the CV's i've played, i just feel like i'm playing something that they want me to think is what a vintage guitar feels like.

Which Vistas do you have?

currently i only own the jagmaster. i love it so so much. i have a CIJ jaguar and it's practically identical. the neck is what sold me on the jagmaster originally. and i thought, if the squiers from japan are this good, i gotta play a fender!

in the past i have owned the musicmaster bass (chinese, but so bad ass), and have played a super sonic (awesome), and another musicmaster bass, as well as the musicmaster guitar (not impressed with the hambackler).

the necks on all of them just felt vintage. they felt ready to rock.

I bought a Vista Jagmaster neck but ended up selling it. I would really like a white or Blue sparkle Super Sonic and even one of the Venus guitars. (Love the Seafoam green)
