I feel as though I "need" one of these. What other stuff is out there that does a similar job?

Behringer reverb machine in the 'space' setting can get you sorta close to the sounds around 1:30-2:00

I have the Digitech XP-1000 that I've been thinking of unloading lately. It's the XP-100 Whammy/Wah, XP-200 Modulator, XP-300 Space Station, XP-400 Reverberator all in one box. Awesome pedal, but I just haven't been using it a lot.

i have the xp1000 and use it quite a bit.

using a quarter as a slide > mode 8 > cranked reverb amp = really interesting.

i'll try and get a clip up this week, we used it quite a bit on a track we recently recorded

some friends and i are covering "beautiful midnight" by the matt good band, this is the closing track and since we didn't have a symphony handy, we improvised. mix is still shit, but it's a rough estimation.

epiphone supernova > space station > macbook pro

we used a twin reverb simulation in garage band with the reverb cranked, i used a quarter like a slide and that is the sound you are hearing.

from another forum
You can make a space station from the cheaper pedals if you have access to an eprom programmer. There are arcade game supply places online that sell the obsolete DRAM and can even program eproms from your code:

How to piggyback eproms:

My solution was just to get get a couple of them and mod each one, then you can get effects in series the old fashioned way! It's gotten kind of hard to find those pedals cheap, you have to fight Jetpack if you bid on ebay, ha ha, he (or she?!) always wants them more than me.

I think there is a guy on offset that can do it.
