1960's Tempo Hollowbody

on my local craigslist - $350.

i've never seen one before. very nice looking. would love to play it. do not have the money.

weird mustang-ish bridge.

that burst is ug-ly. open gear tuners look cool, though.

I tend to like a crap burst more than a "good" one.
That guitar is in DAMN good shape for it's age.

Yeah, suspiciously so. Maybe see if you can track down the s/n somehow? I guess for $350, if it plays and sounds nice, it probably doesn't matter if it's genuine 1960's or not. For me it would take some of the magic out of it if I took it apart one day and found "Made in Korea 1988" stamped on it somewhere.

I actually don't mind the burst so much.

i've not seen black humbuckers like that before.

if i had a humbucker guitar i would be looking for some of those covers right now.

Well I suppose one could always scuff up some chrome covers with some sandpaper and spraypaint them matte black...
But yeah, them be some weird-ass covers.

Me too. I love the "target" style bursts like this, with lots of red and yellow. Modern Fender bursts do nothing for me. I also love those red and black bursts that you see on a lot of 60's cheapies.

I suspect this guitar is mid 70's, though. I've seen a bunch of 70's Jap hollowbodies that looked similar to this.
