neck single coil with bridge hot rail pot ?'s

i am completing my broncstang project in order to demo, and then send to ss.organite, thomas.

he was kind enough to provide me with a quote from fran which i've tried to follow closely;
Fran wrote:I used 500k mini alpha pots with a .047 orange drop capacitor, they work well with Hot rails and seem to take the excessive treble away that some Mustangs seem to have. The mini pots gave me more room in the control cavity, if i remember rightly its a tight fit with standard size pots but i may be wrong. Keep an eye on the shaft diameter as well, the pre-drilled holes on the control plate are small.
so i've got the pots, and the bridge hot rail. mo has been more than kind enough to donate a texas special single coil for the neck position. my only concern is that the 500k pots will be too much for the single coil. (seymour-duncan shows to wire a strat with singles/bridge rail with 250k pots.)

if so, what should i do differently? would it be similar to wiring up anything with HS configuration, as in needing 500k in pots to keep the balance with the humbucker?

if not, thanks for your time.

You could do away with the tone knob and wire it with two volumes - 500k for bridge, 250k for neck.

My tele has 500ks in it, granted i like my tele's to be bright as it is. Their vintage voiced pickups, and the bridge still doesn't sound ice-picky with 500k pots. You should be fine on the neck pickup, texas specials are a bit darker as it is anyways

or if you're really worried about it:

my `74 mustang has 500k's in it
and its sig. louder then my `65 was..
mind you that could be due to the neck now being a DiMarz class of 55 and the bridge being whatever the fuck came in the Squier bronco bass.

dude when you said your mustang was nearly the same color you meant it! haha wow it looks nearly identical minus the single coil and bridge. i love those hot rail pups. no buzz, no problem. should be a cool combo with the single.
