Got a used Classic 30 the other week...which sounds quite astoundingly good. It's got a Celestion 12H in it and it's tweedy and it absolutely absolutely kicks.

No need to change 'em for the foreseeable. When the time comes around though, what would youse guys recommend?

Somebody might say "what's in it now since you like it so much? Get the same." Sorry, I'm at work and I haven't looked at the valves yet.

I had JJ's in my C30 and liked them.

Sovteks all the way. Try a 12AU7 in V1 if you feel that the amp is too shrill
We did this to my bandmate's Classic 50 and all though it did decrease the overall gain a little bit, it really helped keeping the amp from sounding too screechy.
