I did a Leadbelly tribute

I've always been fascinated by Leadbelly (thanks to Kurt Cobain).

In my opinion (and also of the opinion of many historians); Leadbelly was one of the most crucial bridges between slave/work music and what eventually became rock and roll.

In my little tribute I used the original audio of "Pick a Bale of Cotton" (an old slave field song once sung by Leadbelly's slave parents) and I did not alter one bit.
I did not do any chopping, or time stretching to the original audio. I played over it with live drums, bass, and guitar. I did this to illustrate how the feel of the original song relates directly to contemporary rock.

Well I'm not at all surprised that that transposed onto Rock and Roll so seamlessly but it sure did sound awesome!

Good job!

Really liked this actually, the drums in the chorus fit well :)

Nice job.

Very nice! That sounds great, especially the drums. Nice job of making everything sit in the mix well, too.
