Where are you based and what sort of money do you want to spend?
What did you put in your other Mustang and how do you want these new pickups to differ from those?
its dimarzio pickups.. one air norton in the bridge and a dp186 in the neck position.
its wonderful sound in those mics.. i hated the orginal mics that was there before. the sound was so thin, no sustain, the tone died out directly..
i could recommed these to anyone on a competition mustang..
the sound became fat and loud... the mics was putted in as 2 humbuckers.
now i want more fatter sound and louder..
so i thought of air norton in neck and a super distortion s in bridge...
I'm not a massive fan of rail pickups - they sound a bit brittle to me.
I used to have Seymour Duncan JB Jr pups in my Mustang. They were pretty good.
If you want a MASSIVE single coil sound - get a Bareknuckle Sinner for the bridge position: LINKY.
I use Hot Rails, cheap ones at that not even Duncans.
The Mustang gives me a heavy sound with a Hot Rail, I also use it in a Punk band, they stand up to humbuckers IMO.

so dimarzio or duncan is the pickups for me.
yeah, the subtle differences are so apparent through a distorted 60w stack
I dont blame you for wanting the best, we all set out that way, but i realised i was paying an extra £50 just for a brand name in this case.

What are you talking about? Lace sensors? Whats that? GFS?
Whats a shame? Im talking about pickups here, nothing else!
Sorry for my bad english, but im from finland...
respect to you for trying - not many English would do as good as you at speaking Finish!
Okay Bare knuckle pickups are expensive UK hand wound pickups that are highy regarded. GFS are guitarfetish.com pickups which are cheap but also highly regarded. Lace sensor make pickups particuarly regarded for there active pickups, this makes them very popular with metal players.
I can personally say if you want the quality of Bareknuckle but a good price try catswhiskers pickups in the uk.
Big price does not always equal better quality or sound.
Hope that helps.
