Post by weeping_moon »

How good are this guitar really? Image
I know that kurt cobain used it almost all the time.. But is it worth buying for me? I mostley play mustang, stratocaster.
Is this guitar as heavy as the jag-stang?

I own a 77 Fender Mustang and 62 RI Jaguar. I use the Jaguar much more than the Mustang. The only way to really tell if you'll like it more is to go play one..

Heavy as in weight or sound?
If you can check one out in a store that would be your best bet as its a love or hate guitar.

It sounds like you need an Ibanez ?

That's a classic player jaguar / not the official Kurt Cobain model, although pretty similar.

Heavier than a Strat, similar weight to a Tele. The Jag body is quite big.

The Classic Player Jaguar Special HH's are great guitars. I have the white one. It's my most playable guitar, and the blend pots are really cool.

My main criticism is that you need to keep both the volume & tone pots dimed at all times. Otherwise the pups become bland quickly as you start to dial things down. I don't think that Fender got the pot values right on this guitar when they dreamed it up -- they're using old school values in a guitar loaded up with blendable humbuckers.

But if you like HB and single coil tones in 1 guitar, look no further.
