Had to have this ... Champ amp.

(minus the Strat, of course) - 1978, all original exept for a Jensen replacement speaker. This was an impulse buy, as I heavily miss my old Champ that I lost 2 years ago (gave it to service and never got it back, serviceman has seemingly changed location and never replied to anything ...)

Damn. I'm jealous, I love little Fender amps.

I can't believe how much balls this sucks! Had it been me, I would have done everything in my power to track this dude and take him down.

Good on you for the new amp, though :)

yes, but my old one was really fucked up. It had a EL84 power amp tube and a rectifier from a fridge or something ... and the speaker and both transformers were non functional in the end. So the recontstruction would have been nearly as pricy as this new gem, but it would not have been vintage anymore ... so this may be the better deal here. Bu tthe old Champ was my first amp , I bought at 15 ... so I felt it needs to be replaced if it is lost - what really sucks somehow, though it was a ruin.

I want a little amp like this or a Fender Pro Jr. My Marshall combo is not too heavy, but these cute little guys look fun.

These Babys are much smaller than a Pro Junior, and they sound much nicer if you like the classic Fender tone. It's here by now. I had a little trouble because the rectifier and power amp tube didn't survive the shipping ... and I couldn't wait for ordered tubes to come ... so I paid rather much in a guitar store next door for immediate replacement :? But it really sounds good, very sparkly, straight, honest (too honest for my sloppy playing actually) and vivid. It does not really break up when played with the Duo Sonic, even not when turned all the way up. But all the way up is way too much for home use of course, so maybe I'll give it a run with the band. Like any old Fender, it's really loud for it's size ... although it's only 6 ot 7 watts.

Great buy.

The little Fenders sound way better to me than the big ones - they actually have MIDRANGE.
