intrigued, i searched more and found that lollar now makes clones for $250 each, and curtis novak repaired one, though to me, it looks like that is a magnet in the middle...They are Cunife magnet pickups. CuNiFe (Copper-Nickel-Ferrite). The polepieces were magnetized themselves instead of having a one-piece bar magnet underneath like the PAF.
Similar in design to the Fender Wide range humbucker, found on Telecaster Customs. Both pickups were designed by Seth Lover.
As far as I know they made by Gibson as a OEM supplier to Harmony.
They also made a mini that was Used in their Epiphone models. But there was a different mini with 6 poles on one side, with a bar magnet.
Here is a excerpt from a Seth Lover interview from Vintage guitar mag where he mentions the stagger pole piece mini hum

"And here’s the Epiphone mini-humbucker. I changed the design so as to offset the screws and look different — maybe better in some ways — than the Gibson humbucker with its straight screws. It wasn’t quite as loud as the Gibson version, with fewer turns of the coil, and it was a bit trebly... but it did the job."

from what i can tell they came in supro/valco slide guitars and then lawyerswithtelecasters.com put them in "coodercasters" like this...

anyways, if you happen to see one of those pickups floating around, you may want to grab it
