'71 musicmaster bass i picked up fer cheap!

earlier this week i picked up this little big monster for cheap. and i'm LOVING it!!!
here's some nice pics in the evening sun, where the actual color is visible. under some knicks you can still see the (original?) dakota red.
the volume pot does somehow not work correctly (more like another tone pot), damn i need that deoxit stuff...
no neck stamp

btw, note the extra 4 screwholes!!! apparently, this was at one time "converted" to a "longer scale" bass! :wtf:
yes the neck has been somehow (terribly) refinned/laquered too... WTF?!
know this guy?
only prob is, it has a "bump" in the neck, about on the 4th-to-last fret. i mean it's not back-bowed but it's higher there. i hope this can be fixed, as those notes are dead.
