1967 Fender Coronado II on Bay

Yeah they're pretty affordable. In the more common colors they go for under $1000 pretty regularly. That LPB is gorgeous though.

Not a great example, but it sold for $630

Nice red one that sold for a stack.

I've played two of them and they're both amongst the best Fenders I've played. I will own one someday.

i almost bought a 12 string coro a few months back, it was only 900 bucks, and nothing was wrong with it, it was probly one of the only vintage guitars that i would not have to clean the pots. level the frets and give a full setup to.
these things are not in high demand, but will be soon, mark my words.

What are the pups on these boys? Just biggish single coils? I love em, not to sure about the 'wildwood' versions, though.

i do want a $1100 coronado XII in cream.
should sell strat and jaguar and big muff for cash for it.

that blue one would work out around the same as what i paid for mine with shipping to the UK... although i love mine i do sometimes secretly wish it was LPB rather than CAR. the non custom colour jobs usually go for well under $1000, occasionally making me wonder why everyone doesn't own one...

that's what cowbell said, i've never played a black pickup'd one.

Esp. since they are similar to Starcasters (okay--no wide rangers).

Personally I think they're much much better looking.

I have a 65 Coronado I that I picked up for a grand. It's pretty rare in that it has a DeArmond "toaster" or 'Foil" pickup and a tremolo. Most Coronados have a DeArmond P-90 style pickup and the I's only came with the tremolo on special order. Mine probably came from the first NAMM show but who knows.
From everything I've read the Coronados were designed by a guy that Fender hired away from Rickenbacker. This one sounds sweet but the pickup is a low output single coil, extremely microphonic, and doesn't take vintage fuzz pedals well. It does however sound really growly when played hard and cleans up nicely on its own with a lighter touch.
I've seen another Coronado I without the trem and the normal pickup at pawnshop here for 650.

the trem looks like a "mustang trem V1" kinda thing

it doesn't look like i expected it to internally- i thought it'd be the same as a mustang trem but surface mounted in the box, but there ain't no springs....

also, this is another chance for me to post a picture of the coronado I i almost bought (glad i held out for the II though- single neck pickup is useless for me) with the cool as fuck burst neck.



i've seen pictures of some with really odd epiphone style tailpieces too.

I way prefer your one looks-wise.
