Looking for something that has expression. Whammys are rawrly expensive and I want harmonies. Got any off the wall ideas?

behringer PS-5 clone. really cheap and has an expression input.

don't bother, you'll use it for a couple of days and then put it in a drawer and forget about it

Doog uses one tons in our band and it sounds great.

The Behringer one is pretty close to the Boss but not identical. Worth a punt though

on the other hand the boss and whammy seem to keep their value so you could get a boss ps5 and flog it if it doesn't float your boat. the berheingerere won't be popular second hand i would have thought as they are made of egg shells and spiders' webs.

i have seen ps-5s for under £100 second hand.

The five Behringer pedals that have passed through my hands (and more importantly, the hands of my two toddlers) have sounded fantastic and held up just fine. Hurb of this parish made a legendary vid demonstrating their toughness. Chisa, have you ever even played one?

If memory serves, the Behringer sounds a bit more digital and generally more odd than the Boss, but once it's in front of a dirt pedal, it's not too noticeable.

I think that plus an expression pedal of some type is the only way you'll get pitchshifting and intelligent harmonising for under a ton.

i am not saying they don't last, but that is the impression which means they are worth fuck all when you come to flog em. i have played one BTW, the pots were noisy as fuck and the switch was unreliable.

In five pedals I've not had one noisy pot. Buying something thinking only of resale is crackers, and I've only ever lost tiny amounts on the ones I've flogged on (far less than other pedals more bestowed with m@j@).

I buy things because I like the way they sound.

the amount of pedals i have bought and sold makes me think about resale value.

When a pedal costs the same as a night out on town do you really have to care about its resale value?

having said that i heard some clips of the newer behringer stuff - the space echo thing, the t-wah thing and the harmonizer and they sounded ok, i was thinking about the t-wah but it was still like £50, so i probably save up for a second hand boss original.

Don't know man, really torn here between saving up after christmas for a good, "quality brand" pitchshifter. But all the behringer pedals I've had have been spot on, even some of there OD/Distortions. There big muff clone is wicked, I even prefer it to the Little Big Muff.

Watched reviews of the Behringer and the PS-5; tbh I can't really tell the difference apart from the intelligent side of the ps-5 actually works (thats not what I want the pedal for anyway, just pitchshifted intervals and to hook it up to a exp. pedal).

For £40 I can't really go wrong can I? Its such good value for a pitch based effect. Are there any multiFX that have decent pitch shifters on them that anyone has had experience with? That would be my only other inclination when tackling the lack of pitch craziness in my life. I here the Magistomp from Yahama has some good (and strange) reverb and pitch patches on it.
