ha, upon reading that i instantly though "yeah, fender has been going up to 12 since before that joke existed".

i considered making a sneaky forum post on there but the xkcd forums make me want to hang myself. in fact most xkcd readers make me want to hang myself.

i always lol'd that the gain on my digitech rp7's drive settings went to 11. in fact, i think they do that on all their floor processors. cheeky.

In 1990, Marshall released its JCM900 amp, with the knobs going to 20 (GW2), although Nigel says the company later gave him a special model that goes to infinity (complete with the infinity symbol—an eight on its side—and a dial that keeps spinning around as if it were broken).

I think amps should have numbers set up just like a clock. so saying set your knobs at 12 O'clock wont be so confusing
