Tremolo Pedal Dead Spot.

The Pedal is a Boss TR-2 (bought used)
Here's the problem, the Rate knob works up until the 2 o'clock to 3 o'clock area (I think), in this area the tremolo effect is just cancelled out and it's just clean guitar effect (unless using other pedals with it). I opened it up, carefully looked around saw no loose or broken connections, and put it back together. It still works fine, just not in the 2-3 o'clock settings. Anyone have any idea's?

shitty boss pedal
I had a dd5 that just slowly crapped out, and couldn't be fixed by anyone. hope it's not something similar

It's still perfectly operational, just not within that range. So I have no idea what's going on, I may just leave it alone and keep it at my settings and hope for the best. If it happens to be like your DD-5 oh well, I spent $40 on it.

that's what I'd do. YOu could try cleaning out the pot with some electrical spray cleaner

Sounds like a good idea, I'll try that sometime today.

there shouldn't be THAT much going on in the last few ticks of the dial
Say the knob stops turning around 4.5. 2-3 through 4.5 on a depth control won't be doing too much as it is
spray it with some air is probably the best you can do aside from a new pot. The TR-2 is a great tremolo pedal. Any "issues" that people have with it can easily be fixed with a few mods

Aye, try some contact cleaner in the rate pot.
Does it still stop tremololling all the way to the top of the pot from 2/3 o'clock?

I've found the same problem with my DD3 recently. Past 3 o clock on the Delay Time knob it tends to fart out. Can someone post a photo or something of how I would go about cleaning the pot? Boss pedals seem like they'd be more complicated to take apart than most pedals...

It will work to 1 o'clock and then stop the effect in the 2/3 range and then start again at 4. I hope this answered your question, I didn't understand what you were asking.

I've never looked inside a boss pedal, but if the pots are connected to the circuit board by wire and are not directly attached, you could could probably replace it. You would need to know what resistance to get and see if you could find that size in a small pot.

The pots are board mounted to a small PCB Daughter board (or daughter boards) which is then ribbon cabled to the main board. Replaceable but not simple, you have to get the small mini pots to do so.
