I know there has been a lot of uncertainty when it comes to finding cases for specific shortscales / offsets & without trying them in person it sure is a recipe for disaster.. I thought a thread here might be useful for others in a similar position. You too can contribute if you have found a nice fitting case for your axe.

I just bought one for my Jag, although a little tight in areas afters spending a few night living in it, it fits really nicely now.

code: Kinsman TWDE5. just over £50-60 these can be had. Very Fender-esq, prob worth the asking price... the quality isn't outstanding but it does the job & it fits !!!

The following images are from google, I will take a photo of the guitar inside in due course.
I think it would be too short for a Jazzmaster !!

That Kinsman is a beaut, I'm gonna get one for my Jagwar.

ill be needing a case for my incoming 66 mustang sometime soon.

any suggestions are good ones. i see all these hardcases that promise to fit 90% of guitars or whatever. but, i need to be sure with the stang.

Here is a poor phone cam pic of jag in said case, it is tight... but with time it'll fit even better.

I was lucky enough to pick up a Selmer croc-skin effect shortscale case when I bought my Swinger back in, what, '75? I don't know what Selmer had it made for, possibly the Burns Duo-Sonic. I think I may have repositioned the internal divider, don't remember. Must take pics.

i have one of those kinsman tweed cases. there not too bad for the money. fits my tele/strat/mustang really well. though these days i just use my godin padded gig bag, the kinsman won't fit in my boot.

Many Strat cases have too much width, but not enough length for the Mustang body. I found a cheap tweed case though in a local shop that works ok:



Paid a little more than online, but I could try with a Mustang before buying.

I think I paid 60 €. Similar cases can be found for 40-50 € online.

can anyone recommend something for a 22.5" scale stang shape? or will it generally be the same as a 24"?

What the what?

Not mentioned in any of the many burns retrospectives in recent months guitar mags. Sounds potentially cool though, I've always kind of liked burns guitars, but curiously never the music of anybody that plays one (Billy Bragg I guess but he sounds the same on every guitar)

Actually, I'm not sure the Sonic would fit my case because of its long headstock.
