There are currently three mim duo-sonics on ebay, but I think the prices are a little high. One has a starting bid of $382 another of $300 and the last one has a starting bid of $100, but has an unknown reserve price. What is a fair price for a mim duo in good shape? Well, what they're worth and what they go for are two completely different prices.

I bought mine in like 2004 for $90 and it was worth every penny of that and then some.

For what you get, I'd not pay more than $150 for one but that's just me. The prices I see those go for, you could just get one of the new squier's and have a more usable guitar for the money.

I concur. They're okay cheap guitars. Not worth more than £100 or so.

Thanks for you input. When I buy one I will probably go with the cv duo. My Dad works for a local music shop so I think I can get a decent deal.

I'd see if you can get one of the squire models of these, not the classic vibes the older ones. They're the same except pickups and electronics. Which you might want to change anyways. I paid Mage around $100 for the squire model and it was worth every penny

He works for palen music in liberty. He mainly deals with local schools working with their music programs, but they are a fender dealer as well.

<3 palen music. there's one in columbia that i go to every chance i can when i visit my sister at MU. never been to the liberty store, as i don't make it that far north from where i am too often.

i payed 90 bucks for mine. then i put 200 dollars worth of parts on it

Yep it's the same company they have several stores across MO. His store is geared mainly toward the school music end of it, but he can get anything the other stores have.
So with the feedback I am getting I gather that I would be better off buying a CV duo than paying more that $150 for a mim.

well, they're two different guitars (scale, and necks), tbh.

the mim/squier's are 22.5" scale, correct? the CV's are 24" with clubby, ridiculously overglossed necks. the mim's are satin, i'm sure. i would venture to guess the pickups are voiced a bit differently as well, and in the end have different tones.

the 90's reissues are actually a 22.7" scale.

That's interesting I thought the 90s mim where 24inch scale. That is good to know before I buy one on ebay. I have never played one that short so I am not sure if I will like it. I have played a CV a little, but just for a couple of minutes. What does everybody think of that overglossed neck. It felt ok to me, but with limited playing time.

I had one of the mim 1993 Fender ones, i payed $120 for it maybe 5 years ago
but i couldnt ever get used to the short neck on it, very toy-like.

I gave it to a friends son last year for Christmas, he'll use it more than would/did
