I just got done watching the movie "It Might Get Loud" with Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge. Excellent movie and very inspiring. About 1 hour 11 minutes into it, Jimmy Page is playing this gorgeous butterscotch tele that has as Jaguar tremolo. Really Cool and sounded fantastic. Kinda reminded me of Fran's Jag-stang with the Jaguar Tremolo. Here is some pics from the film:

i noticed that too when i first watched it. Figured it had already been brought up. Really interesting guitar, could do without the hotrails though

I'm pretty sure it's a baritone? From memory, it sounds like one during that scene and the neck looks huge.

Makes me want to buy one the Butterscotch Affinity Squier Teles and do the same mod. I could use my stock Jag bridge until I could get a Mustang bridge. I would then try to get CV 50's tele neck and then eventually upgrade the electronics. A CV 50's Tele would also be a good starting model, but the Affinity is more affordable.

Here is a pdf from a site that diagrams the Jaguar tremolo in a telecaster. The big difference is that their example uses the normal 6 saddles as opposed to the Jaguar/Mustang bridge

Link for Bigsby kit for the plate and Mustang/Jaguar bridge

Here is the page's full link: http://www.xs4all.nl/~msengers/htm/gallery.htm

I also found a video on installing the bigsby kit in Squier Affinity telecaster: Of course I would drop the Bigsby and install a Jaguar trem instead.

Better just source the plate without the Biggs and a jag/jazzy setup used, dude:

Bigsby kit for tele = $200
Jaguar trem = $70 - $100
Affinity Tele = $180

It's a cool idea but make sure it's worth it.

I am wondering if you could get the Bigsby kit without the Bigsby Arm. For people who already have the Bigsby arm and just need the plate. I have Jaguar bridge, so I really just need the plate and the metal inserts for the bridge. Might have to contact Bigsby. I would need to find some deals to make this idea workable.

I saw this on ebay, it's ali though rather than chrome.

Cheap too!

EDIT:

Found this:

It's chrome, so better, and more expensive.

Thanks for those finds. I knew someone had to make one. $10 or $30 is much better than $200.

That's actually a Bajo Sexto, essentially a bass VI with a tele body and pickups. My first clue was that I knew Jimmy Page had a bajo sexto. The second clue was that I've seen his bajo sexto in still photos.

MY THIRD CLUE WAS THE BASS NOTES HE WAS PLAYING IN THE MOVIE.

Don't post large images next to each other like that. It fucks up the horizontal scroll bar. I edited you post to space them out.

The guitar is very nice, though. I like it a lot.

Thanks for fixing that. I had noticed that happening before and stopped putting large horizontal images side by side.
