The Inglourious Basterds (new singer icybomb!)

Post by Josh »

so, today we did some recording during practice.
ala. hanging a rock band mic from my ceiling and recording it with audacity.
and besides drums, and my proper sloppy guitar playing i'd say we did ok.
so take a listen and tell me what you think, and while visiting the page, take a peak at the edukators, who are amazing.
we're playing with them and a few other groups soon.
the inglourious basterds.

EDIT: i'm not a big fan of the music, even though i like hardcore punk, but i did enjoy playing it.

i couldn't make out anything on 45"
the cover tune is a bit easier to hear.
i like the breaks in no future and the rickerd.
i can't figure out what the drums are doing.
i bet you guys are fun as hell to watch live tho!

Your drummer seems to think he's in a free jazz band?

Give him a slap and make him play a BEAT.

I think there's some real potential, the guitar and vocals aren't bad at all.

My two penneth work: buy a tuner so at least both the guitars and bass are in tune, and get a drummer who understands how to play drums rather than just flailing around on the toms randomly.

And maybe a less ZEITGEIST name.

mike: i did NOT choose the name, they voted 3 to 1 on me there.

Doog: she's just learning drums, and we're working out the rest of the drum beats this week. Also, i didn't tune the guitar and bass that day, and the tuners are just BAD

RobOg: i'm kinda pissed about the drums, she's the bassist's girlfriend, and she just got her kit to play for a band, right before my friend who's REALLY good at drums offered. we also might be getting a new singer, since our singer might not be able to make shows anymore. hopefully we'll improve everything.
btw, we are fun as hell to watch, our friends that helped record the tracks, were restraining themselves from moshing on a few of our songs!

Having a girlfriend in a high school band is the worst idea since chocolate themed skittles. Sounds like fun to play, drummer is shite, vocals sound good. VIDS.

Naming your band after a Tarintino film is a terrible idea. If nothing else, how do you expect people to search for it? I realise you already said it wasn't your choice but you should put your foot down about that.

I think Josh has quit this band now. There was a post that led me to believe that a few days ago.

I think this might have been the last gig or something.

well, technically i'm out, b/c the singer and i DO NOT get along.
but, if they get rid of him i'll consider staying. i already have a new group formed and ready to practice.
surprisingly even as a couple they're not bad unlike other couples in groups.
and i did... 3 to 1 vote.

I'd stay in, but let it be known that you're playing with someone else, and that's your priority.

Rather than just quit, we fired the singer and hired a new one, here's pics from last night.

Woah, Johnny New Vox looks loads like a younger version of my friend Dan; promoter extraordinaire, once singer with Bastion, now singer with The Dead Beat:

Ditch Bandanas.

Seriously, do we have to talk you through not sucking horribly step by step?

1. Change name. Idiots. You might aswell be called THE UNGOOGLEABLE DOUCHEBAGS
2. Ditch Bandanas. I SHOULD NOT NEED TO ELABORATE HERE.

In fact that's a much better name.

Problem solved - you are now called THE UNGOOGLEABLE DOUCHEBAGS

being called inglorious bastards is as stupid as being called Zero Cool (we're totally ungoogleable..)
but we chose the name because of its stupidity, and at the time it was our fuck project (due to out main bands taking what were small breaks two years ago.. and never having returned from them)

ditch the bandanas. it hardly works for ends, and you're not ice cube.

pro tip: don't break your gear at the end of a show, unless you can afford to fix it, or have replacement gear. it is also passe
*i may be a hypocrite on the pro tip*

This

I hate your band name, and the neckties need to go. But hey, who cares, because im sure there are people that hate my band, But it doesn't matter to me because I love what im doing, and if you do too then don't let anyone tell you other wise. Do what you want. Not what other people want you to do. That being said, I would change that band name ASAP.
