I just bought this on ebay. Hope I didn't over pay, but I had to jump on it. It is so hard to find a short scale strat that is not a cheap $99 squire.

Rondo has several 3/4 scale and 24" scale guitars for around $100

I am aware of the Rondo guitars and the squires, but I was looking for somthing a little more solid. I didn't want to have to replace the tuners, pickups,pots, and tremelo system to have a solid guitar. When I said I hope I didn't over pay I was refering to this specific model. I think I got a good price. All the harmoney central reviews said $339 or $359. Anyway just thought I would put it on here and see what you guys thought.

Cool score. I'm not familiar with this specific model, but it seems like a good price for a MIM strat, so I don't think you got ripped off or anything.

I think Lee Ranaldo used a mini strat sometime during the nineties.

He may be using it still, unless it got stolen in the great gear theft of '99

Looks like an excellent deal, you'd pay that much for a Squier over here.

I think it had only been posted for about 4 hours when I bought it. I bet the guy is rethinking his buy it now price about now.

i've heard all the pickups sound the same. sure there's probably a difference in the neck and bridge, but i'd duo-caster it in a heartbeat.

Don't do it! The middle pickup on a strat is very versatile. Quacky 2 and 4 positions and a middle position that cuts through for '72-era Garcia tonez.

now we're just talking about 25.5" scale strats? i could've sworn we were talking about the mini-strat that is the topic of this thread?

removing a mid-pup on a standard strat is stupid, great tones to be had. however, when the distance between the three pickups is halved, i say it's time to lose one of them. you wouldn't notice the mid pup being gone on this squashed version.

I hope that is the case. I kinda went out on a limb with this one. I have not played a 22.75" scale guitar before(I have played a 24" Duo). The 25.5 Yamaha Pacifica I play now is a really nice guitar, but I have smaller hands and makes some things very difficult to do and I am just a beginner. So I can see how it would get in the way even more as time goes on.

Jerry Garcia was a member of The Grateful Dead. A simple google search would show that Jerry was known for playing a Strat in '72 and that it's a tone favored by most Deadheads.
